How Fusion Works
Slide all tiles at once with the arrow keys, WASD, or a swipe. Tiles with the same number fuse into their sum when they collide. Each tile fuses at most once per move, so a row of four 2s becomes two 4s, not an 8. Every move drops one new tile (usually a 2, sometimes a 4) onto a free cell, and every fusion adds its value to your score.
The run ends when the board is full and no two neighbors match. Reach the 2048 tile and you've won, but the board stays yours, so you can keep pushing toward 4096 and beyond. There is no undo: every swipe counts, which is exactly what makes the late game tense.
Your game is saved locally after every move, so you can close the tab mid-run and pick up right where you left off. Only the New Game button (which asks first) wipes the board. Your best score waits in the header, and sounds can be muted at any time.
